What is PLAK-IT®?

PLAK-IT® is a unique and attractive process of mounting, protecting and displaying YOUR photographs, certificates, prints, etc. YOUR print or document is first mounted to specially selected wood which has been custom cut and finished to YOUR specifications. The surface of YOUR plak is then completely sealed under heat and pressure with a tough, durable, transparent laminate.

About Us

Special Effects was begun as an in-house business in 1982, the object was to create a “hobby business” for the founder. In a small way, Special Effects developed into a retail, commercial, and decorator business, and became a full retail operation in 1989.
